Are you an inspiring and dedicated Science teacher ready to take the next step in your career? Oasis Academy Brightstowe is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Second in Science to support the leadership and development of our thriving Science department.
About the Role
As Second in Department, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Science to deliver an ambitious and engaging curriculum that inspires students and raises achievement. You will:
- Support the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Science department
- Lead on curriculum planning, assessment, and quality assurance
- Mentor and support colleagues to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
- Deliver outstanding lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Contribute to the wider life of the Academy and uphold our ethos and values
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds QTS and has a strong academic background in Science
- Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Science education
- Has experience of teaching Science at KS3 and KS4
- Has a proven track record of raising student achievement
- Possesses strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Is committed to inclusive education and the Oasis ethos of equality, perseverance, and compassion
- Is reflective, resilient, and eager to grow professionally
