At Oasis Academy Marksbury Road, we have a new position open for a School Meals Supervisory Assistant (SMSA) to join our friendly lunchtime team, helping to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for our pupils during the midday break. This role is for 2 hours on a Wednesday, with the opportunity to pick up additional days as overtime when available.
Job overview
You’ll be responsible for supervising pupils during the lunch period in the dining hall, promoting positive behaviour and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children. You’ll help maintain a calm and friendly atmosphere, encourage good table manners, and support pupils in their play. You’ll also be expected to respond to minor behavioural needs and report any concerns to senior staff.
Job requirements
- Ability to engage positively with children and promote good behaviour
- Reliability and flexibility to support additional hours when needed
- Good communication skills and a caring approach
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow safeguarding procedure
