Salary: OCL SCP 7–11 (actual £23,874.91 - £25,447.40) + Local Government Pension Scheme

Oasis Academy Brightstowe is looking for a dedicated and proactive Administrative Officer to join our friendly, fast‑paced office team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, values teamwork, and wants to play a key role in supporting our students, staff, and wider community.
About the Role
You will provide high‑quality administrative and pastoral support across the Academy, ensuring the smooth running of daily operations. This diverse and rewarding role includes:
Attendance & Pastoral Administration
- Managing penalty notices and supporting attendance processes
- Maintaining accurate attendance records and weekly trackers
- Overseeing leave of absence requests and following up as required
- Supporting staff to ensure registers are completed promptly
Office Administration
- Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the main office, including reception cover
- Processing staff absence forms in Bromcom and maintaining accurate records
- Issuing staff ID badges and updating staff noticeboards
- Managing internal and external communications (phone, email, post)
Data & Information Systems
- Updating and maintaining student/staff information on Bromcom
- Supporting the upload and management of assessment data
- Maintaining organised digital and physical filing systems
- Behaviour & SEND Support
- Updating behaviour logs on Class Charts
- Preparing and filing suspension paperwork and parent letters
- Supporting the creation of FTS and PEX packs
- Minute-taking for SEND/EHCP meetings
- Educational Visits & Events
- Coordinating and administering school trips and visits
- Ensuring all documentation is completed and approved
- Supporting events such as parents’ evenings and awards evenings
- Booking rooms, catering, and supporting operational setup
- Communications
- Supporting newsletters, notices, website updates, and digital signage
- Overseeing School Cloud, MCAS, and Class Charts
General
- Providing support across the admin team during busy periods
- Undertaking First Aid and medication administration training
- Overseeing uniform tracking, in-year admissions, and transition admin
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Qualified & Capable, educated to Level 3 or above, with GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4+)
- Skilled in IT systems, with experience using MIS systems (Bromcom desirable)
- An excellent organiser with strong attention to detail
- Professional & Adaptable
- Able to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Proactive, solution‑focused, and able to use initiative
- Reliable, approachable, and confident working with sensitive information
- Committed to safeguarding and willing to undertake First Aid training
Desirable
- Previous experience in a school environment
- Experience with SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom
- Experience coordinating events or educational visits
