Regional Director South-West Secondaries

A Regional Director in Oasis brings together an exceptional ability to inspire, coach and motivate, delivered through world class educational leadership. A rare opportunity that will appeal to an ambitious leader looking for an influential senior role within a highly respected purpose-driven multi academy trust of 56 schools. An opportunity to ensure an approach to teaching and learning that is truly inclusive and all encompassing regardless of background, circumstance or label. Education and opportunity for all.

In return you will be given the freedom to innovate, to develop and to enhance the delivery of our curriculum to ensure the best outcomes.

You’ll be supported, empowered and listened to as you evolve how our academies are managed, structured and grown as a region of educational excellence and community partnerships.

It is a truly unique opportunity that needs an equally unique and forward-thinking expert.

We are seeking an exceptional leader with the experience and skills to influence the education of children across multiple schools. A highly competent leader of others who aligns with and continuously upholds the Oasis ethos and values.

Our established South-West region of five Bristol-based secondary schools (Brightstowe, Brislington, Daventry Road, John Williams and Temple Quarter) are either Ofsted rated ‘Good’ academies or awaiting their first inspection. We now seek a new Regional Director to consolidate and evolve the great work delivered by our previous RD who has moved onto new opportunities.

Could this be you?

• Can you develop confident, empowered leaders who drive great teaching through clear expectations, high-quality support, and consistent use of the Oasis approach to teaching and learning to secure exceptional teaching?

• Can you help embed our shared vision of great relational teaching, grounded in our definition of excellence through our approach to teaching and learning, with professional development to support consistent delivery across all regions and academies?

• Are you able to create a positive, inclusive school culture where all pupils feel they belong, attend regularly, behave well, engage in learning, are supported in their well-being, and are inspired through enrichment opportunities?

Our three Trust priorities are:

Inclusion - Creating Belonging

Every child must feel they belong, attend regularly, and engage meaningfully in learning. This requires positive, inclusive school cultures where diversity is celebrated, individual needs are met, and high expectations are maintained for all students regardless of background or starting point.

Teacher Excellence - Enabling Learning

Belonging without learning is insufficient; students need empowered and expert teachers who can deliver impactful teaching that helps all students flourish. This demands deep subject knowledge, sophisticated pedagogy, and the professional skill to adapt instruction whilst maintaining curriculum coherence.

Leadership of Learning - Creating the Conditions

Even excellent teachers cannot sustain impact without confident, empowered leaders who create the enabling conditions for teaching excellence. This requires leaders at every level who understand that their primary purpose is developing others and removing barriers to learning.

Reasons to apply:

• You will have the opportunity to continue your learning and further develop your educational expertise

• You will be part of the wider Oasis education team and met regularly with other Regional Directors from across the Trust

• You will enjoy exposure to a range of different communities and educational leaders as you work across a range of different academies.

• You will learn from colleagues and peers across the Trust of 54 schools at a national and regional level.

• You will expand your network and accelerate your career prospects in a role that combines leadership and mentoring with influence and knowledge sharing. A rewarding combination that directly transforms the life chances for our students.

• This is a unique opportunity to ensure that all our students have a world class education provision.

Job Purpose

• To champion and promote the Oasis Ethos; the 9 Habits and the mission and purpose of OCL.

• To be responsible for the educational outcomes and standards for the Academies in the Region/Cluster.

• To be the Line Manager for the Principals in the Region/Cluster.

• To be responsible for the professional development of the Principals in the Region/Cluster as holistic leaders.

• To monitor and feedback on the effectiveness of the delivery of services to academies from the Oasis National and Regional Teams.

• To ensure financial sustainability of the academies within the Region/Cluster.

• To ensure the national strategy is delivered in each academy and ensure alignment across the Region/Cluster.

• To be an Oasis reference point in the Region/Cluster, to create a sense of belonging to the Oasis family of academies and wider Oasis.

• To lead nationally/work alongside the National Lead on a specific theme e.g. SEND/Data and Assessment/ Mental Health etc.

We do not expect you to do this alone. You will enjoy the support and challenge of National leadership and the wider OCL education team. By being part of a family of Oasis academies, you will work alongside expert leaders in their field and benefit from a strong support network and partnership.

Oasis Community Learning is committed to making a difference to the lives of the communities it works in, and as such you must show a willingness to demonstrate commitment to the values and behaviours, which flow from the Oasis ethos.
