Principal, Oasis Academy Coulsdon

Are you an ambitious school leader looking for the opportunity to build on success, inspire exceptional teaching and shape the future of a thriving school community? This could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for!

Oasis Academy Coulsdon is a successful, oversubscribed secondary academy in South Croydon, with a strong reputation, an established staff team and an Ofsted rating of Good in 2024. We’re recruiting for an inspiring Principal to build on these strengths, develop future leaders and ensure every student has the opportunity to achieve their potential.

Why Coulsdon?

• A school with a strong reputation – build on an established record of success and a school that families actively want to be part of.

• A diverse and aspirational community – champion an inclusive education that combines academic ambition with genuine care for every student.

• Partnerships that make a difference – strengthen relationships with local primary schools and community organisations to broaden opportunities for young people.

• A talented, committed team – lead an experienced staff community with strong retention and a shared commitment to students.

• The opportunity to shape what comes next – develop teaching and learning, empower middle leaders and help drive the academy’s next phase of development.

• The strength of Oasis – benefit from the expertise, collaboration and professional development opportunities of a Trust of 58 academies.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a confident, emotionally intelligent leader who:

• Has a strong track record in curriculum development, teaching and learning, and improving student outcomes.

• Champions inclusive education, ensuring every student is supported and challenged to achieve their best.

• Can inspire and develop middle leaders, building a culture of collaboration, professional growth and high expectations.

• Can articulate a clear strategic vision, build strong relationships and lead with confidence, credibility and influence, navigating complex situations with emotional intelligence and sound judgement.

• Understands the complexities of leading a large academy within a Multi-Academy Trust, balancing competing priorities while bringing people with them through change.

• Embodies the Oasis ethos and our 9 Habits, putting people and purpose at the heart of decision-making.

You’ll build on the academy’s existing strengths, bringing together academic excellence, inclusive education and strong community relationships to help every student thrive.

What You’ll Get in Return

• A rewarding opportunity to lead an established and successful secondary academy.

• A collaborative network of colleagues across Oasis Community Learning.

• Access to National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) training and Oasis-wide CPD.

• Opportunities to share best practice and develop your career across the Trust.

• Access to a range of staff benefits through our Reward Gateway Smart Hub.
