The Extended Provision Unit supports pupils with additional needs, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality learning, supporting behaviour regulation, and helping pupils engage positively with education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver targeted learning activities to individuals and small groups.
  • Lead lessons in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Support pupils with SEMH and additional needs, implementing strategies to promote engagement and wellbeing.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to adapt learning materials and interventions.
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress.
  • Support behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s ethos and policies.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a role model.
  • Contribute to the development of personalised support plans.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs, particularly SEMH.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach.
  • The ability to lead learning independently and adapt to individual pupil needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and promoting pupil wellbeing.

We Offer:

  • A supportive and inclusive school environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • A dedicated team committed to improving outcomes for all pupils.
