Oasis Academy Henderson Avenue is seeking a proactive and dedicated Facilities Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring our academy provides an outstanding environment in which staff and pupils can learn, develop and thrive.
About the Role
As Facilities Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of site and estates services across the academy, ensuring that our buildings, grounds and facilities remain safe, compliant and fully operational. You will work closely with academy leaders, the wider Property & Estates team and external contractors to maintain high standards across all aspects of facilities management.
This is a varied role combining leadership, facilities management, health and safety compliance, contractor management and practical site maintenance. You will also line manage site and cleaning staff, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the academy site.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and academy procedures.
- Line manage Facilities Assistants and Cleaning Teams, supporting their development and performance.
- Oversee routine inspections, maintenance programmes and statutory compliance checks.
- Coordinate contractors and monitor the quality of service delivery.
- Manage site security, including opening and closing procedures and emergency response arrangements.
- Support business continuity planning and emergency preparedness.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance and presentation across the academy.
- Carry out and coordinate minor repairs and maintenance works.
- Support capital projects and improvement works across the site.
Your Skills and Experience
- Experience within facilities, estates, site or property management.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements and building compliance.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supervising or managing staff.
- The ability to undertake practical maintenance and repair tasks.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Good IT skills and confidence using digital systems.
- A proactive, flexible and resilient attitude.
- A full driving licence.
