Environmental Team Coordinator - National role with flexible location FTC 18months with possible extension
Are you passionate about caring for the environment? Are you wanting an opportunity where you can take climate action and make sustainable change within a purpose-driven sector? If this sounds interesting, this may be the role for you.
Schools – their buildings, grounds, people and teaching play an important role in the journey to net zero carbon. At the heart of Oasis is a deep-rooted belief in care of and being careful to the environment – we believe local actions go on to have a global impact. We also recognise that being focussed on environmental sustainability is a core part of our commitment to challenging injustice, ending disadvantage and furthering inclusion. Being part of the environmental sustainability team, your contribution will help us to ensure we are as environmentally sustainable an organisation as possible and help equip our young people to ‘be the change of the future’.
The Environmental Team Coordinator role will play a key part in supporting each of our academies to have a Climate Action Plan as well as working in partnership with them to problem solve and help achieve their goals. You’ll have the chance to explore new ideas and influence academies in mitigating and adapting to the impacts of climate change, both working from home and being on the ground visiting academies and offices.
The Environmental Team Coordinator will also provide key admin support on a range of sustainability projects including liaising with external partners (charities, suppliers, DfE) and academy staff to build relationships, monitoring and reporting of energy, water, waste, engagement data and assisting in bid applications.
If you’re an enthusiastic, motivated, self-starter, interested in a range of environmental issues from climate change, to circular economy to biodiversity with no two days being the same and the ability to challenge the status quo, we’re looking for you. You’ll join an organisation supportive of you leading your own personal development whether that be carbon literacy or IEMA membership or project specific skills - we’ll help get you there.
This is a unique chance within the Environmental and Education worlds to be a sustainability champion, a game changer, problem solver and a key contributor in our mission to encourage a culture of environmental responsibility across Oasis.
Sound like you? We can’t wait to hear from you.
