About us

School 21 is a community where every child is known, seen and heard. Through an education of the Head, Heart and Hand, our students thrive academically and develop the strong character needed to become change-makers in their world and find their voice.

We have a unique curriculum offer that goes well beyond the national curriculum. It is ambitious and designed to ensure that our students thrive academically, develop the strong character to become change makers in their world and find their voice. We believe in a curriculum of the Head (academics), Heart (well-being), and Hand (real-life application).

About Oasis Community Learning

Delivering first-class, innovative education is part of the work we do as we seek to grow an Oasis Hub in every area where we work; creating safe and inspiring local neighbourhoods that provide integrated and diverse services to benefit the whole person and whole community.

Teacher of English

We are looking for an excellent English teacher who is passionate about their subject, and is keen to develop their practice in a dynamic and innovative teaching environment. School 21 is an all-through school and your role will teach English from 11-18. Ideally, you will be an experienced English teacher and it is essential that you have a passion for developing the best pedagogy for that age range.

It should empower students to confidently, and accurately, express themselves in both their written and verbal expression. We are looking for a teacher with strong subject knowledge, who has a genuine passion for the subject and is able to foster excellent knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of English in the students that they teach. Furthermore, we wish to appoint someone who will fully embrace the vision of the department, working closely with the team to further develop an innovative and effective curriculum and ensure excellent outcomes for our students. It is important to say that we have our own English curriculum at Oasis School 21 and you can view this on our website.

The successful candidate will be:

• An excellent teacher and subject specialist

• Experience of teaching KS3 to KS5, a focus on A-Level is desirable
