Champion Learners. Build Confidence. Transform Futures.

Are you passionate about helping children overcome barriers, develop a love of learning and achieve more than they ever thought possible? Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our ambitious and caring academy community.

Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe is a welcoming primary school at the heart of the Grimsby community, where we are committed to helping every child become both a champion learner and a champion citizen. Our modern and dynamic curriculum is designed to maximise life chances, nurture a lifelong passion for learning and ensure every child succeeds, regardless of their starting point. Inclusion, pride and opportunity sit at the centre of everything we do, and we believe every child deserves the chance to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or aspiring Cover Supervisor who is ready to take the next step in their career and play a vital role in helping children achieve their full potential.

Creating Opportunities for Success

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be an integral part of our academy team, helping to deliver engaging learning experiences and outstanding support for pupils across the primary phase.

Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will lead learning during PPA cover and planned teacher absence, deliver targeted interventions and support pupils both academically and personally. You will work with whole classes, small groups and individual learners, ensuring that all children receive the support and challenge they need to succeed. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Leading high-quality learning experiences across the curriculum
  • Supporting pupils to make strong academic progress
  • Delivering interventions that close gaps and build confidence
  • Creating engaging resources and learning activities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and attitudes to learning
  • Providing pastoral support that nurtures wellbeing and resilience
  • Working in partnership with families and colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for children

Every contribution you make will help children develop the confidence, knowledge and skills they need to succeed both now and in the future.

Developing Lifelong Learners

At Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe, we believe education should inspire curiosity, creativity and ambition. Our aim is to develop pupils who are proud of themselves, passionate about learning and confident in their ability to shape the future. We encourage children to embrace challenge, celebrate individuality and understand that effort and perseverance are key to success. As a Cover Supervisor, you will support pupils to:

  • Develop a lifelong love of learning
  • Grow in confidence and self-belief
  • Build resilience when facing challenges
  • Explore their interests, talents and creativity
  • Work collaboratively and independently
  • Take pride in their achievements and community
  • Become responsible, thoughtful and respectful citizens

Through your encouragement and guidance, you will help children discover their strengths and realise their potential.

They will also be committed to supporting pupils with a wide range of needs and abilities, safeguarding children's welfare and championing the Oasis values of inclusion, equality, hope and perseverance.
