Actual Salary: From £26,466.49 per year
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, Term Time Only + 2 weeks (41 weeks)

Are you an experienced school data professional who thrives on accuracy, organisation, and supporting school operations?
We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Data Officer to join our team at Oasis Academy Brightstowe. This is a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our assessment cycle, statutory returns, timetable updates, and wider administrative processes.
If you have experience in SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or similar MIS platforms—and understand the flow of the academic year—we would love to hear from you.
The Role
As Data Officer, you will:
Data & MIS
- Lead the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and development of the Academy MIS (Bromcom).
- Maintain high-quality student, staff, and assessment data.
- Produce clear reports and analysis to support senior leaders, teachers, and curriculum planning.
- Complete statutory returns including School Census and other required submissions.
- Support the construction and updating of the school timetable throughout the year.
Assessment & Reporting
- Oversee the full assessment calendar.
- Set up and manage grade sets, mark sheets, reporting templates, and progress tracking.
- Publish academic reports to parents in line with Academy deadlines.
Exams Support
You will work closely with the Exams Officer and assist with:
- Data-related aspects of exam entries and candidate information.
- Downloading and processing GCSE results for analysis.
- Administrative tasks during busy exam periods when additional capacity is needed.
Administration
As part of a flexible and supportive admin team, you will also:
- Support general office processes when needed.
- Assist with data-related queries from staff, students, and parents.
- Contribute to an efficient and positive administrative service across the Academy.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who:
- Has previous experience in a school or education setting.
- Is confident using SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or equivalent MIS.
- Understands safeguarding expectations, exam cycles, assessment windows, and school operations.
- Can manipulate, analyse, and present data accurately.
- Is organised, detail-focused, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Communicates effectively with staff at all levels.
- Is happy to support wider administrative and exam duties when required.
If you’ve worked as a Data Officer, Assessment Administrator, Exams Assistant, or a combined data/exams role, this role will suit you well.
