Teacher of Design and Technology (DT) with potential for TLR depending on experience
We are seeking to recruit an exceptional Design and Technology Teacher to join Oasis Arena, South Norwood. Join our passionate team at the Academy, inspire our dedicated students and make your mark on our community.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach across the various technology specialisms at KS3 and Resistant Materials at KS4. There is potential for a curriculum teaching and learning responsibility for the right candidate.
Full-time, Permanent (Part-time considered)
Salary: M1 – UPS3 (Outer London), dependent on skills and experience
About the Role
As a member of our Design & Technology department, you will:
- Deliver high quality, well structured lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Promote excellent progress and outcomes for all learners.
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for D&T, including current curriculum requirements.
- Adapt your teaching to meet the needs of all students and use assessment effectively to inform planning.
- Create a safe, positive and well managed learning environment.
This role also includes contributing to the wider life of the school, working collaboratively with colleagues, and maintaining strong communication with parents and carers. Safeguarding and student wellbeing remain central to everything we do.
About You
- We are looking for a teacher who:
- Holds a degree-level qualification (QTS desirable)
- Has successful teaching experience at KS3 and KS4.
- Understands effective teaching strategies and how students learn.
- Has strong behaviour management skills and high expectations for all students.
- Can build positive relationships and communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents.
- Is committed to safeguarding, equality and the ethos of the school.
