At Oasis Academy Sholing, we believe every student deserves the very best — and that includes those with additional needs. We’re proud to be an inclusive, over-subscribed academy where strong relationships, high expectations, and a love of learning shape everything we do.
Our focus is on our students, staff's well-being and working with parents to ensure the wider community is engaged with our school, supporting our leaders, and playing an active role in community transformation through academy-led projects. Being part of the Oasis Community Learning Trust, we work to collaborate sharing of best practices with our regional schools, Regional Director, and the wider Oasis family.
We’re now looking for a passionate Assistant SENCO to join our team on a maternity cover role. You’ll work closely with our Assistant Principal/SENDCo to support the day-to-day running of our SEND provision, helping every young person with special educational needs reach their full potential.
What you will be responsible for:
• Lead high-impact literacy and numeracy interventions
• Collaborate with teaching staff to embed inclusive strategies across the curriculum
• Line manage a team of dedicated Teaching Assistants
• Champion integrated learning and inclusive practice throughout the school
• Support the wider SEND strategy and contribute to whole-school improvement
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to creating meaningful change — both within the academy and across our wider community. Previous experience in a school setting is desirable, but above all, we’re looking for someone who shares our belief that every child deserves our full support to thrive.
Our offer to you:
When you join the Sholing family, you’ll benefit from a package designed to support your wellbeing, development, and career progression:
• Fortnightly personalised Incremental Coaching
• Weekly Academy-wide and department-based CPD
• Termly Trust-wide CPD
• iPad for all staff/students to support digital learning
• Eye Care vouchers and Cycle to Work scheme
• Health Shield Cash Plan (opt-in):
