Firstly you’ll be joining us as Oasis. We’re a large established Multi-Academy Trust of 56 Academies but we’re more than a MAT. As a tier 1 HR service, you’ll guide and upskill our team and contribute to their development. You’ll have a strong HR generalist background as queries can be wide ranging and you’ll be there to help guide the team to find resolutions to queries.

About our People Service Desk Lead 

The role is part of our People and Culture function, where we have a number of Centre's of Expertise, looking to add value to our operations and ultimately support our key stakeholders in providing exceptional education to our students. This role heads up our People Desk team, who provide first line HR advice to employees, academy operation teams and managers and has come about due to previous incumbent moving onto a HR Manager role. 

The role will be hybrid with 3 days a week in our HQ in Waterloo. You will cover shifts 8-4, 9-5 and 10-6 across these days. The key aspect of the role is to guide the team to provide an excellent service to our staff. Queries will fall across the employee lifecycle and you will help the team meet key SLA’s and KPI’s around actioning. Ultimately though you’ll help make sure we are providing a great service to our staff. 

This is a relatively new function so you’ll continue to look at ways to improve how we operate and help to coach/upskill your team. 

 

About you  

You'll be a people person and have experience mentoring/coaching a team. You’ll have ideally worked in a similar environment (charities/public sector/education) across sites and managed a small team (currently 4) and have a strong HR generalist background. The ideal candidate will have had some experience in a shared service or help desk environment and will bring knowledge and ideas to enhance systems.  

 

Key details and what will you get in return? 

Duration: This is a permanent opportunity 

Salary: circa £44,000 - £49,000    

Base: Head office is in London Waterloo 

Hours: 37 hours a week across shifts

Pension: Excellent opportunity to have up to 20% of your salary pa go into a pension pot.  

The holiday year runs between 1st September and 31st August. If employment commences or terminates part way through a holiday year, the entitlement during that holiday year shall be calculated on a pro-rata basis rounded up to the nearest half day. Support staff have the following holiday entitlement: 

• Under 2 years’ continuous service: 34 days holiday, comprising of 26 days + 8 Bank holidays. 

• Under 4 years’ continuous service: 39 days Holiday, comprising of 31 days + 8 Bank holidays. 

• Over 4 years’ continuous service: 40 days holiday, comprising of 32 days + 8 Bank holidays.
